Revitalized in 2016, Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach has become a vibrant destination featuring upscale boutiques, waterfront shops, and eateries. Restaurants and retailers along the harbor wanted to create a welcoming experience for guests year-round. Cold winds funneled through alleyways and seating areas along the waterfront made effective heating essential to support both daytime and evening dining. HeatingSolutionsUSA was selected to design and supply an outdoor heating solution that would enhance guest comfort without compromising the upscale look of the waterfront setting.
The Challenges
The outdoor spaces at Lido Marina Village posed several challenges. Strong winds off the water reduced the effectiveness of traditional patio heaters, while narrow alleyways required discreet, space-saving installations. Restaurants also demanded an aesthetic solution that blended with the stylish architecture of the Village. The heating system needed to be controllable, efficient, and reliable across seasonal temperature changes.
Our Outdoor Heating Solution
HeatingSolutionsUSA worked closely with restaurant owners and contractors to develop a heating design that addressed both performance and aesthetics. The chosen solution featured Solaira CosyXL infrared heaters, installed in both single and double emitter configurations, available in black and stainless steel finishes. These heaters provided powerful, wind-resistant radiant warmth while blending seamlessly into the architectural design. Adjustable Solaira SMaRT controls allowed each restaurant to tailor heat output for guest comfort at any time of day or night.
The Results: Guest Comfort and Community-Wide Adoption
The heating installation at Lido Bottle Works, one of the first participating restaurants, proved so successful that other venues in Lido Marina Village,—including Malibu Kitchen, Skal Pizza, and Circle Hook Fish Co., chose to implement similar systems. Today, the waterfront community benefits from an integrated heating solution that improves guest comfort, extends outdoor dining throughout the year, and reinforces Lido Marina Village’s reputation as one of Newport Beach’s premier dining destinations.
