Located across from South Coast Plaza, Water Grill is an upscale Costa Mesa restaurant celebrated for its oyster bar, fresh seafood, and seasonal Santa Barbara Prawns. To maintain a welcoming guest experience year-round, the architectural team needed a custom restaurant outdoor heating system that would integrate seamlessly into the restaurant’s design while delivering reliable comfort.

The Challenges & Site Conditions

The restaurant’s signature outdoor dining areas required heaters that could be recessed into high ceilings while also surface-mounted in areas where recess applications were not feasible. The system had to complement existing architectural elements, including lighting, sprinklers, fans, and speakers. Aesthetics were a top priority. The heaters needed to blend into the upscale design without distraction while still providing powerful performance.

Our Outdoor Heating Solution

Heating Solutions USA collaborated with the project architect and MEP engineers to design and supply the restaurant heating system. The final installation featured Solaira ICR Series heaters in a custom RAL9002 black finish with matching trim kits, CSA/UL approved for recessed applications. The system was designed for even heat distribution with multiple zones, paired with Solaira Omnis variable controls, giving the Water Grill management team full flexibility to adjust heater output and match changing ambient conditions.
